Before I began this collection I had given up the idea. I had spent numerous days across several years making photographs of flowers but found hardly any worth keeping. A flower on its own, a flower in an arrangement, a flower as abstraction, it all escaped my creativity. A flower representing a moment to celebrate, decorate, or critically capture our times. None of this inspired me enough to add yet another image to the immensely abundant richness of flower photography.

Until a day in April 2018. Rather than an immediate realisation - as undesired as this would have been for me - that that day would lead to a collection, it was the realisation of vanishing singularity, nowness, and wordlessness.

In 2024, after having left these works alone to themselves since July 2018, I went back to them and decided to publish them.

This collection shows them in their entirety and chronological order of day and precise time. Thereby they may be understood as relating a story that is not fully told but eventually and occasionally hinted at. Evidently, I , the photographer, know the full story. Yet instead of revealing more of its details, I prefer to disentangle it. More than one strand, therefore, may be understood as appearing.

One of them could be understood as being about the unstoppable passage of time itself, just observed, or feared, or desired. Another strand could be understood, in just one image of 29 June authorised for publication, as being in the now with self-reflective humor. Alternatively, the collection may just be understood as images.

These works are not for sale except for the benefit of a Dutch registered small charity I would communicate. Like the grand majority of my work, each image would be a signed single edition pigment print on archival art paper. Its size could be chosen by yourself. Excluded from this possibility to be bought are 12 June, 23 June 16:11, 26 June 10:29, 29 June, 30 June, 3 July 17:48, 4 July 14:13, and 5 July.
